Are you an experienced social media expert? Are you passionate about We Are Moving The Needle’s mission? We Are Moving The Needle seeks a dynamic and creative part-time independent contractor to join our team and support our external communications, focusing on social media campaigns and related design elements. This person will play a critical role in executing our year-round social media campaigns from the Resonator Awards to scholarships!

Social Media Management

  • Manage day-to-day maintenance of We Are Moving The Needle’s social media channels: reposting of relevant content, engaging with partners and constituents, fielding direct message inquiries and elevating outreach to Director as needed.

  • Work with Director to create a social media campaign cycle, encompassing key initiatives such as end of year impact campaigns, Giving Tuesday, Resonator Awards, GRAMMYs visibility campaigns, etc.

  • Execute planned posts throughout campaign cycles, including designing social media assets, editing video content and interviews, and crafting compelling captions.

  • Coordinate with the Director to facilitate branded collaborations with relevant sponsors and partners, ensuring seamless integration and maximum impact.

  • With Director, identify and capitalize on new campaign and posting opportunities, such as responding to collaboration requests, leveraging current events, and identifying trending topics.

  • Monitor social media metrics to assess content performance and provide insights to optimize future strategies.

Design

  • Create visually striking design assets for social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and campaign objectives.

  • Develop collateral materials for events, including flyers, invitations, and other promotional materials, to be utilized in outreach efforts.

  • Additional design editing support for We Are Moving The Needle programming as needed (i.e. impact flyers for tabling at conferences, event programs, impact graphics, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience managing Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn and other social media in a professional or business setting. Experience with music industry or arts non-profit organization setting preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe. Experience with Squarespace and Mailchimp a plus.

  • Demonstrated skills in video and photo editing.

  • Superior time management and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to work independently on projects as directed.

  • Team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to collaboration and inclusivity.

  • Must be comfortable in ambiguity and building processes and systems from the ground up.

This is a part-time, contract position, working fully remotely from anywhere within the United States.
